APSJ HOMELESS EVENT – 12/1/13

This week Advocates for Peace and Social Justice members gave our homeless and needy friends at Journal Square a special Thanksgiving thanks to
Sumer Elganbaihy and family who donated 40 Thanksgiving Day meals of turkey with vegetables and mashed potatos, 20 fresh homemade sandwiches, 40 individual bags of Doritos and two cases of water. She was accompanied by APSJ members Doha, Alaa, Hager, Bassant and John.

Happy to report that everything was distributed with lots of love. The homeless enjoyed the meals and showed affection to APSJ members by asking to be photographed with the group. That is something that doesn’t happen every day. It was an awesome event.

I send thanks and blessings to Sumer, and the entire Elganbaihy family, for the generous donation, and to all the volunteers who helped to distribute the food. They all did an awesome job and are an excellent example of real Muslimhood.
