I am really happy to report that this month Advocates for Peace and Social Justice volunteer Naved Husain, his brother Shehdaat Husain and their friend Imran Bukhara came to Jersey City’s Journal Square with goodies for our homeless and needy friends.
They distributed 80 individual fruit juices, 2 cases of water and 80 boxes of individual cereal boxes. Everything went super fast. The homeless were so happy for those donations. 80 persons were served.
Jamal Powell (Chef/Coordinator of Muslims Against Hunger- Union City) donated 12 pasta with meatball meals with green salad and a tray of fresh fruit salad which I distributed at Journal Square. All 12 meals went quickly and 20 persons were served fruit salad.
Advocates for Peace and Social Justice donated 1 case of water, 1 large tray of vegetable rice and fresh made chicken. 30 persons were served.
A big thank you and blessings go out to Jamal Powell for his gift of food for our friends in Jersey City. Special thanks and blessings go to Naved, Shehdaat and Imran for bringing a love donation to Journal Square and helping me to serve and distribute food. The situation was such that we did not have a chance to take any photos until the food was gone.
After the food portion of the event was over there was a mini activist action pro-Palestine and conversation about the genocide taking place there. ALLAH have mercy on Palestine. All in all this was an awesome day.
