Dear Friends:
ALL PRAISES TO GOD! I am so happy to report that this week APSJ volunteers
Naved Husain, Khalid Ahmed, Rubayat Siddiqui, and Tahir Iqbal came to Jersey City’s Journal Square with a big donation for our homeless and needy friends which consisted of:
2 extra large trays of Chinese fried rice with vegetables (which fed 60 persons with some asking for a second or third serving)
20 pounds of fresh bananas
3 cases of water
3 cases of fruit juice (30 single servings in each box)
4 large trays of chocolate chip cookies
5 boxes of Dunkin Donut mini donuts (25 count each box)
serving plates, napkins and forks for all
Amazingly, there were two boxes of chocolate chip cookies, one case of fruit juice (30 servings) and some forks and napkins left over. Since they are unopened and non- perishable I will distribute them the next time I go to Journal Square.
It was a perfect day weather-wise. A beautiful comfortable day with a nice breeze blowing. Our homeless and needy friends gave us many blessings for the food they received. Several of them took pictures of us and posed for our photographs as well. There was definitely a lot of love and joy in the air. I felt blessed to be there and so grateful that donors were so generous. Our event was so blessed that GOD sent us a beautiful bird, named Picasso, to visit with us and bring us joy. It was the perfect ending to our perfect day.
I send many blessings to APSJ Volunteers Naved, Khalid, Rubayat and Khalid Iqbal for bringing gifts of food to those who need it most. A special thank you and blessings go out to Naved’s mother- Zareen Husain- who purchased the rice, bananas, water, plates, utensils and napkins for today’s event and to Khalid’s sister- Parisa Siddiqui- who purchased the Dunkin Donut munchins.
