Dear Friends and Comrades,
This week Neil -a volunteer from Or Ha Lev Synagogue in Mt. Arlington, New Jersey (a donor to Muslims Against Hunger)- arrived at Jersey City’s Journal Square with 137 lunches for our homeless and needy friends. Oddly, there weren’t many homeless at the Square today. We distributed about 60 meals and the remainder was dropped off at St. Lucy’s in Jersey City.
Or Ha Lev Synagogue has been donating food in alliance with Faiths Against Hunger since September of 2013. They typically donate 100-150 meals at a time which are prepared by the adult and teenage members of the synagogue.
A big thank you goes out to Zamir Hassan (Founder of Muslims Against Hunger) for his ongoing service to our homeless in needy in Hudson County and a special thank you goes out to the Congregation of Or Ha Lev Synagogue for their generous donations of food and for pledging to donate more in the future in cooperation with Muslims Against Hunger.
