Muslims Against Hunger – 7/6/14

Today Ali Hassan of Muslims Against Hunger arrived with several of his friends with plenty of lunches in hand for our homeless and needy friends at Jersey City’s Journal Square. All the volunteers had an amazing first time experience with the homeless who made them feel welcomed and appreciated. We had a wonderful time distributing the lunches. The homeless were very happy to see us and sent us many blessings. 80 lunches were distributed. Many thanks and blessings go out to Zamir Hassan (founder of Muslims Against Hunger) for all the donations of food they have given our homeless and needy friends in Hudson County.

I send a special thank you to the parents of the children attending Sai Elementary School in New Jersey who felt bad that the homeless were not getting lunches due to the end of the school year. Normally the children prepare the lunches when school is in session but now that summer vacation has come they stopped. Thankfully the parents of these beautiful children decided to fill the gap by preparing the lunches at home and donated them to Muslims Against Hunger so that the homeless would not go without. I send them many blessings for their generosity and good will.

On another note today was a totally gorgeous day with a playful breeze blowing my hijab in all directions and, at times, covering my face completely when I least expected it. Oh the joys of the playing wind! I so much enjoy a joke from nature. It rounded out this day from fabulous into the spectacular. A perfect day to be out feeding the hungry – easy breezy.

Here are some photographs of the today’s group of volunteers. Blessings to them all.
