Dear President Correa:

I am writing to urge you to grant political asylum to Julian Assange.

His native Australia has abandoned him and the British Courts have struck down Mr. Assange’s appeal against extradition to Sweden, where he is wanted for interrogation purposes. As you know, the fact that Swedish demand for his personal appearance is unreasonable, unprofessional, disproportionate and grossly unfair. Mr. Assange’s presence in Sweden is not necessary at all.

Mr. Assange has good reason to fear extradition to Sweden, as it very possible that upon his arrival in Sweden he will be arrested and sent to the United States to face a kangaroo Court bent on revenge for his exposing the truth about the shameful things the United States Government has done.

Given the current climate in the United States Mr. Assange’s incarceration would be extremely cruel and oppressive in many ways, which might include, keeping him completely incommunicado from family and media.

Given the fact that the U.S. Justice Department and Pentagon conducted a criminal investigation into “whether WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange violated criminal laws in the group’s release of government documents, including possible charges under the Espionage Act” it is to be expected that the U.S. government has already prepared an indictment and is just waiting for the opportunity to extradite Assange from Sweden. I believe that charging Assange with these crimes in the U.S. and convicted via kangaroo Court under the Espionage Act, would be the legal mechanism for the war criminals involved to murder Julian Assange under the cover of law.

What is happening to Julian Assange is an assault on the freedom of the Press and suppression of the truth. He exposed the truth about the U.S. government’s crimes against humanity. Mr. Assange has done NOTHING to merit prosecution but the warmongers and criminals who are guilty now want to torment and murder Julian Assange for informing the world of their atrocities. Mr. Assange does NOT deserve to be imprisoned or executed by U.S. officials acting to undermine democracy and human rights around the world.

In light of all the above I urge you to please grant refuge to Julian Assange. He has done NO wrong. Speaking the truth is not a crime. It is the duty of journalists to report the truth.

I thank you in advance for your consideration of this matter. I know that you are great leader to your People and a good human being. The enemy of Julian Assange and your own is the same entity. I pray that you will not hesitate to grant Julian Assange asylum in Ecuador.

I send my blessings to you and the great People of Ecuador.

Respectfully yours,
