Re:  Urgent appeal for Iraqi Detainees

Dear Ms. Blatchley:

An urgent appeal is made to you as Coordinator at the Human Rights Watch Organization to take immediate action to save the lives of the leaders of Iraq.
Tariq Aziz, his colleagues and all of the Iraqi prisoners, are experiencing oppressive conditions, harassment and denial of medical services in Iraqi prisons run by government and sectarian militia forces.

I hereby make an urgent request that you act immediately and send teams to investigate the inhuman conditions and treatment of hundreds of thousands of detainees being held in clandestine and open prisons run by the government and sectarian militia forces. It is well known that the prisoners are being brutally tortured, raped and murdered daily. Mass executions are also taking place at these prisons.

It is unconscionable that Human Rights Watch remain silent on this matter. Torture, rape, murder and mass executions are crimes against humanity. Please do not delay in taking appropriate steps to save the lives of Tariq Aziz and all of the Iraqi prisoners.

Thank you in advance for your immediate attention to this request.

Migna Khan
Executive Director

  1. Request is made of all readers to please send your own letters of support to Human Rights Watch asking for an investigation into the inhumane conditions that Iraqi detainees are being subjected to by USA supported puppet government and sectarian militias in Iraq. Thank you.
